Program Description:
Since 1978, the State of Wisconsin and the U.S. Department of Justice have funded domestic violence programs through a variety of grants.

Domestic Violence can be considered any act of violence towards a family member, and
should be reported to the police. The State of Wisconsin has a mandatory arrest law
regarding domestic violence. This means anyone charged with domestic violence is to be arrested.

The Red Cliff Domestic Violence Program provides advocacy for victims of domestic violence. Advocacy includes accompanying women to legal hearings and assistance with domestic
violence restraining orders and/or harassment injunctions. Victims are given information as
to their rights as crime victims.

The Red Cliff Domestic Violence Program provides advocacy, supportive counseling, information, and referral for adults who are in violent relationships with a spouse or partner.
The Domestic Violence program provides referral to shelters for women and their children and also provides emergency financial support for those not eligible for other economic support programs. Transportation may be provided based on the needs of the victims. The Domestic Violence program is responsible for providing information to the community about domestic violence and the
resources available for victims.

The Red Cliff Domestic Violence Program has support groups for victims of domestic violence of all ages. Support groups provide education about domestic violence validate the rights of people to live in environments without violence.
